Chalet Matterhorn - COVID 19 POLICY

Updated on 14/03/2022

Special Policy COVID 19

We want you to feel confident in booking with us, and following the complications of the 2021/22 winter season, we are continuing with a transparent COVID 19 policy.

Your full balance is due 10 weeks prior to your Chalet Arrival date.

These conditions apply to all bookings for the 2022 summer season and the 2022/23 winter season.

1. COVID-19 Refund Policy

Should you need to cancel your booking prior to arrival or are otherwise prevented from travelling due any of the COVID-19 reasons set out below, your deposit payment converts to credit note for a future holiday at Chalet Matterhorn. Your balance will be fully refunded (minus your deposit, bank transfer fees, and fluctuations in your native currency to EUR exchange rate)

A qualifying COVID-19 reason arises if any of the following scenarios affect the travel arrangements you have booked with us prior to departure:

  1. If the French Government (or the government of your country of origin) prohibit or advise against travel (including non-essential travel) to Méribel or France;

  2. If the chalet or the resort has been forced to close due the laws and regulations of the French Government, or the local or public authority;

  3. If France has closed its borders or is otherwise denying entry to visitors;

  4. Where the government of your country of origin has implemented a local lockdown in your place of residence, which prevents you from travelling;

Please note: You should notify us as soon as possible if any of the above conditions arise in respect of members of your party.

Should one or member of a party cancel as a COVID-19 related reason has prevented them travelling but the other members are not prevented from travelling, we will generally reimburse the pro-rata price for this person where you have paid an additional price for increased occupancy above our base but in all other cases it will increase ‘the per’ person price for the accommodation of those still travelling and you will be liable to this increase as generally the price you pay is for the whole accommodation rather than per person.

This Refund Policy will only apply pre-arrival. You are not entitled to the benefits of this Refund Policy where you curtail your holiday after arrival in Méribel.

2. Insurance

You should have travel insurance to cover you if you are unable to travel in these circumstances above as adequate travel insurance is a condition of your contract with us. (Your insurance policy should cover you for repatriation where necessary, emergency medical expenses abroad and additional costs of accommodation and/or transport if you need to self-isolate whilst abroad.)

Any cancellations not Covid19 related are governed by our general Terms & Conditions
